Tuva - the territory of sobriety

01-07 of October 2018 within the framework of the project “Exploiting the potentialities of CSOs and LAs for development of holistic prevention of drug and alcohol abuse among girls and women in lagging regions of Russia” two meetings have been held with leaders and specialists of local authorities, NGOs and government organizations in the Republic of Khakassia and the Tyva Republic. 

In the capital of Khakassia – Abakan city, the project and the participation of the republic in its implementation were discussed with Olga Levchenko, Chairman of the Public Chamber of the Republic, Irina Selkina, Head of the Office of the Chamber, and Olga Martsinovskaya, Assistant of the Deputy Head of the Republic of Khakassia.In the Tuva  Republic, the representatives of the RPCO “Drug Abuse Prevention Center ”took part in the inter-regional forum “Tuva - the territory of sobriety and a healthy lifestyle”. Within the framework of the forum, a special two-hour session was allocated for the presentation and discussion of the project. More than 30 heads and specialists of ministries of the republic, municipal and state institutions, NGOs participated in the session. The next day, meetings and discussions were held on the provision of socio-psychological assistance to dependent women at the Republican Narcological Dispensary and the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy of the Tyva Republic. The issues of participation of NGOs of Tyva in the project were discussed with the chairman of the Public Chamber - Chimit-Dorzhu Ondar. The project was presented and received support for its implementation from Organa Natsak, First Deputy of Prime Minister of the Tyva Republic. The issues of rehabilitation and re-socialization of women with alcohol and drug problems were discussed with the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Policy of the Republic of Tyva Elena Saaya, representatives of NGOs. Agreement on cooperation in this area have been reached.                            The project is implemented with the support of the European Union.
