Within the framework of the project "Exploiting the potentialities of CSOs and LAs for development of holistic prevention of drug and alcohol abuse among girls and women in lagging regions of Russia", on May 24 - 25, 2018, the project coordinator visited Ulan-Ude.

On May 24, the meetings were held with Deputy Head of the Administration of the Head of the Republic of Buryatia  and the Government of the Republic of Buryatia on the development of civil society - Chairman of the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Civil Society Development Mikhail Kharitonov, Minister of Public Health of the Republic of Buryatia Damnimiba Sambuyev, Chief Physician of the Republic Narcological Dispensary Andrei Mikheev. Agreements on support of the project activities on the territory of the Republic of Buryatia, on participation of  local specialists in training events in St. Petersburg and their participation in the development of educational materials have been reached, the issues of holding competitions for NGOs, inter-agency cooperation in the implementation of the regional anti-drug and alcohol policy have been discussed. On May 25, an acquaintance with the activities of two non-profit organizations of Buryatia - the Regional Public Organization "Women of Buryatia" and the Regional Branch of the NGO "No to Alcohol and Drug Addiction" was held.
